I have a problem. What should be a 5MB file is reading as a 1.8GB file. An A4 blank page when saved is 895MB. This has been going on for a few days. All files take several minutes to open, so the size recorded is obviously accurate.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I'm using is the latest version.
Is his a bug? Can anyone help.

More details please.
What version of InDesign? What operating system?
Latest version does not help. What is the exact version and build?
Have you trashed your preferences in addition to uninstalling and reinstalling?

All I can find is CC2018. Where would I find any other info?
I haven't changed any preferences, just uninstalled and then reinstalled.

The problem was occurring before I uninstalled. I thought reinstalling it might clear the problem.

Try trashing your preferences per my last post.
Are you working locally or via a network?

Really sorry, but I can't find the 'hidden files' listed. I don't think I have enough technical experience to do this.
If I call Adobe during working hours will someone be able to talk me through it?

You can do this with a keyboard shortcut but you have to be very fast.
Launch InDesign and hold down the cmdshiftctrl+opt keys. If you’re successful, you’ll be prompted to reset your preferences. If not, try it again.

Sorry, it was past midnight!
I have done this, but had the prompt 'Do you want to delete preferences'? Is this correct? (I replied no)

Are you embedding the graphics in your layout instead of placing them? A file side of an indesign document will go up dramatically if you start embedding your graphics into the layout.
