InDesign Not Exporting Images

Explorer ,
Jun 04, 2025 Jun 04, 2025

I've already had this issue before... InDesign export PDF refuses to export any images. Some are PNG embedded and some are linked PDFs both don't show up. Why does this keep happening?

Are they set as non-printing? Are they on a non-printing layer?

Can you post the file?

No issues like that. I just keep exporting it over and over and eventually it will include the images. No idea why. Another one of the many joys of CC... /s

Have you tried replacing the embedded images by opening & resaving in new location & placing? Is this all docs, or one particular doc? If one particular, try saving out to and .idml and seeing if the issue persists with the new file.

It happens randomly on a variety of docs. They're not embeded, they're linked. The issue looks like its not properly linking. I keep exporting it over and over and usually on the 5th try it exports properly.

Hello @superbloom421,

Could you check if this happens with files located in a specific folder on an internal/external/removable drive or a cloud-synced folder like Google Drive/Dropbox/etc.? This will help better investigate the problem.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
