Question

InDesign on the Web?

I bought the InDesign software and installed it locally. Does that come with access to the app on the web, or is it only desktop? I need to access it from multiple devices.

InDesign is a computer-installed app and there is no web version of it. You can install on as many computers as you want, but only 2 of them at a time will be activated. If you open InDesign on a third computer, it will interrupt you and have you deactivate another install. A trivial inconvenience. You will not be able to run it from a tablet or smartphone, of course.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

InDesign does not have a web-based version. Is it possible you were seeing Adobe Express to create documents online ( https://www.adobe.com/express/ )?

There's no web-based InDesign. Sorry.

Your Creative Cloud apps are not platform specific. They can be installed on supported Windows & Mac operating systems.

Make sure your computer meets the minimum CPU & GPU requirements. Most Creative Cloud apps work on these systems, no more than 2 versions back:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
  • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).

Hope that helps.

From where did you purchase it?

Hi @chaya_2067,

Thank you for reaching out. After reviewing your Adobe ID, I was unable to find any active subscription associated with the account used to submit this query.

Regarding Adobe InDesign, it is primarily a desktop application and does not currently offer a full-featured web version like some other Adobe apps, such as Photoshop on the Web.

If you have purchased and installed InDesign locally, the license is linked to your Adobe ID and permits installation on up to two devices, although the software can be activated on only one device at a time.

For more details, please refer to the following documentation:
Installing Adobe apps on multiple computers.

Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
