Password protected Indesign online documents do not allow buttons and animations to work. Without a password the document works without an issue. Anyone else had this issue?

@stuart5CCC

I've moved your post from Using the Community (for forum questions) to InDesign for you.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about the trouble. Can you share the version of InDesign & OS, along with a link of the file for testing? We'll try our best to assist you.

Thanks

Hi Rishabh

The Indesign version is the latest 19.4 (Windows Only / No Mac)

First link without password, buttons are visible.

I am so sorry for the delay in responding. I tested the link on my end, and I can reproduce the issue. Can you share the file so I can test it further to troubleshoot this? You can add the file to a shared location like Google Drive or DropBox and share the link.

I'm not willing to share my file as it is a corporate file (not my decision), I do not wish to sound bad about this but a company the size of Adobe releasing a new function which wasn't checked fully to make sure it works correctly is not good. Plus this password protection function should have been there from the start with online publishing.

This is not the first time a new release hasn't worked correctly (to many bugs) across the Adobe Creative Cloud world.

We understand your frustration and apologize for the inconvenience. Could you please share your Adobe ID, phone number, and the best time to contact you with me over a private message? This will allow us to connect with you for a remote session and further investigate the issue. Without access to the files, it's challenging for us to replicate the problem.

We will make every effort to assist you.

Thanks,

Harshika

I am having issues with the new password protection feature also. I have published some large docs (20+ pages in hi res with lots of images) and they load very slowly and erracticly when people view them. Some image do not show up either.

When I publish the excat same docs but without teh new password protection feature, they load quickly and all images are present. Adobe have not been able to identify the issue their side or off a solution yet.

they should just remove the feature until it works correctly, anything with interactions and the page doesn't load or work correctly.
