Indesign - Print - Setup - Paper Size

Where does the paper size list come from?  I'd like to edit that list.  It has paper sizes on it I'll never use and the list size is cumbersome.

Good question. Also because I see a different list in "Suggestions" ( "Vorschläge" in my German InDesign ) and the New Document Setup:

What I can tell is: You cannot add or remove predefined page sizes.

( I see no way to do this… )

Thanks for reaching out. As Uwe mentioned earlier, you can not remove the predefined page sizes. You may create your own presets though. Please follow this help article to know how to do that. I have attached a screenshot as well for reference:
