Hello Community,

I encounter this issue on windows11. When I print from InDesign, it does not use the same printer as the Windows printer settings. I need to change the printer preference every time if I want to print. It does not save the last setup I made.

My printer driver is up to date.
InDesign Version 20.0.1

Can you please help me how to fix this

Which one is a default Windows Printer?

The setting you are setting up - they are on the system level - outside of InDesign's scope.

If you want to preseve them - you need to create a new printer - duplicate one you've already installed - then set those preferences as default for this duplicated printer.

By the way thank you for your response, I hope I can find a solution for this, its quite annoying to replace everytime the printer setup (document size, margins, orientation etc.,)

By @Stella!!!

You are welcome.

That's what I'm talking about - doc/paper size, margins, orientation, etc. - you need to create a copy of the printer - doesn't matter physical location of the printer - then set those options as standard for this copied printer.
