InDesign Printing Tri-Fold -- Page 2 Upside Down?

New Here ,
Oct 09, 2017 Oct 09, 2017

Good morning,

I am using InDesign to create a tri-fold brochure as per Create a brochure | .  Which is a great tutorial.

But when I print from ID itself, page two is printed upside down.

???

I have made my settings to two pages, and un-clicked facing pages, and still no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

The only way I can print it correctly is to export my document to PDF, and then print on short edge.  Then it is fine.

But I'd rather print directly from ID.

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Thank you.

Check the print settings in InDesign:

File > Print > Output > Flip

Thank you Barb,

But when I do File > Print > Output > Flip, the "flip" is shaded, so I cannot click on it.

How do I fix that?

Thank you again!

Then your printer driver doesn't support that feature. In that case, just do it in Acrobat.

A way you can hack it is to rotate all your content on pg 2, then rotate the spread view for pg 2 180º. It will print correctly and you can still work on it right-reading.

....

You can also print on short edge directly from ID

Print > Printer > Tick 2 sided printing > choose "short edge"
