inDesign problems with online pdf-files

I have the following problems:

1. When publishing a pdf file created with indesign online, a grid appears. this grid changes when zooming in and out of the browser. See photo 1.

2. With some photos a yellow-grey background appears online. It hard to see (photo 2).

These photos are integrated as psd-files in the pdf-document.

Any ideas?

Can you use Publish Online instead?

I can see the PDF version is 1.6 so the problem isn’t likely flattening artifacts the lines are being generated by the browser or they are in the PSD. All of the color is DeviceCMYK (CMYK with no profile) so it’s not surprising you are getting color shifts.

When saving for web it is better to dumb down the PDF so the color is unformly sRGB, and there is no live transparency. Try setting your Output tab to this, where the destination is set to sRGB.

PDF version would be irrelevant unless it was a proper export from InDesign. Anything else would flatten the art and cause stitching.

It looks like either distilled that PDF or used some method other than direct export.

Make sure the PDF version is Acrobat 5 or later. View the PDFs using Acrobat or Reader.

Yo Bob.

I figured out that the problem only appears when the PDF-link is clicked within the browser (mozilla). when I download the PDF and open it with my acrobat, everything is fine. Seems like a browser-problem. Thats kinda bad for our customers...
