InDesign setup "Cursor key" keyboard shortcut

Hi,

I frequently use the "cursor key" in InDesign and had previously set up a keyboard shortcut for this function. Unfortunately, I've lost my custom shortcut set and can't remember where I originally configured it. I'm not referring to "Units & Increments" in the Preferences. What I'm looking for is a smaller dialog window where this can be set more specifically. No scripts were involved. Does anyone know where I can find this setting again? Thank you!

Hi @btap:

I found this one earlier but I thought I shouldn't offer two things you said it definitely wasn't. LOL

Is this it: https://creativepro.com/topic/how-to-assign-shortcut-to-cursor-key-increments/

@Abhishek Rao @Barb Binder

So sorry! I just realised it was a script. But I can't remember that I managed to implement it. But here is the window I was looking for. It's a great one:

I actually use a modified version of one of the scripts from Barb's link to modify my nudge increments. Like Barb, I was reluctant to post "Oh hey, you said it's not a script, but are you sure you don't want a script? here's a script!"

Once you posted that screenshot of the interface of the script you used, it was very easy to perform a Google search for "Set Key Increment" which led directly to this post

Hi @btap:

We nudge objects using the arrow keys on the keyboard (add Shift+arrow to increase the distance), yes, the distance is controlled with the Cursor Key value in Units & Increments.

What exactly did the shortcut you are remembering do for you? The arrow keys are themselves the nudge shortcut, so are you looking for a quick way to adjust the Cursor Key amount? I'm confused.

@Barb Binder, thank you for your reply.

I'm looking for the keyboard shortcut that quickly activates the cursor key increment field in a smaller window. I previously used ⌘+K for this, but I can't remember where it was defined. When activated, it works in the same way as in Illustrator.

Hi @btap,

Thanks for reaching out. Try going to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts, then look under the relevant Product Area, like 'Tools' or 'View Menu', to see if the command you used is listed there. If your custom set isn’t showing, it might’ve been reset during an update or reinstall.

Let me know if it helps.

@Abhishek Rao, thank you for your suggestion.

But I have looked through these sections and I can not find it there.
