Indesign tools/windows disappear

Lately I’ve noticed that every time I quit out of Indesign and start it back up my tools and windows are missing. I have to go under the window option and bring back all the windows (character, color, stroke, etc) that I use while working. It even happens sometimes when I just hide in design and bring it back up.

Do you mean the Start interface maybe? You can turn that off in Preferences/General/Show Start workspace (...). Just remove the tick mark.

I reset the preferences and unchecked the Show Start Workspace... option. I quit out and opened it again and still having the same problem. Any other ideas? I'm having problems with Photoshop too. I reset the preferences in Photoshop too so hopefully those will be fixed.
