InDesign - Undo and Redo many steps at one

Hey Community,

I never had this issue before, but now when I hit cmd+z to undo my last step, InDesign reverses all of my latest steps. When I hit cmd+shift+z do redo those steps in order to "save" my progress, only one of the numerous steps is redone again. So I always lose a big bit of progress which is very annoying.
