Index entry missing when word file is imported into InDesign

Hi,

I have an Word document which consist of nearly 250 page with app. 500 Index entries (marked with XE tag).

When i place the word document in InDesign file, many of the index entries are not imported into the InDesign.

I split the word documents in to multiple files (say 50 pages each) and imported into the InDesign. This time all the index entries are properly imported into the InDesign.

Is there any limitation in InDesign CS6 to import Word index

I am using InDesign CS6  (v8.0.2)

Thanks,

Gopal

I don't know of any official limitation to the number of index entries that you can import from Word to InDesign. However, Word index entries with page ranges and sub-topics are problematical.
