Hi,

I'm trying to add page numbers to the master slide, but the special character markers are greyed out.

I've tried selecting the text box, selecting the text box then selecting the type tool, removing the character...

What am I doing wrong?

    Hi bodwyer,

selecting a text frame will not help with inserting markers.

They will stay grayed out like that:

Instead you have to select text or a insertion point in the text:

FWIW: You have to select footnote text to insert a footnote number marker.

Yeah thanks Derek, but I'd already read that and it doesn't address the issue.
