I have CC subscription. I want to install InDesign. I am running 10.10.5. The CC app says "Not Compatible". I am trying to find older versions to install but having no luck. For the amount of money I am paying for this subscription I would think that Adobe would support a macbook pro runnning 10.10.5 ??? Can somebody tell what is going on here??? and how I can get InDesign (2014 or whatever...) installed? Thank You.

Hello,
If i remember correctly MAC OS 10.10.5 supports only CC2017 version. You can't install anything after that because of hardware incompatibility. Adobe now ships only the latest two version of InDesign, so you can access either CC2020 or CC2019. But in order to use them you will have to update your MAC OS to i would suggest Mojave.
You can try and download the installer from the direct download link for C2017 compatible with your OS version using the following link. Though i would suggest upgrading your OS and then using the latest software would be better choice and return for your subscription.

Look at the following link to understand how you can check all the available older versions of an application for install using Creative Cloud

Thank you for your response Manan! Unfortunately,my Macbook Pro is a "Mid-2013" model and does not support runnng OS 10.13.
When I go to the Creative Cloud app I do not see the option to install previous versions. (as referenced in your second post)
I am forced to use "non-Adobe" software to complete my project and will take this into consideration when I decide to renew (or not) my CC subscription.
Thank you,
JC

Hi JC,
Did you try downloading CC2017 from the direct download link i gave, this does not need Creative Cloud

The minimum requirement for InDesign 2020 is Mac OS 10.13. Is there some reason you're still running a five year old operating system? Why not just upgrade the O/S? Adobe's current policy is the current version and one version back. Nothing else is available.

I find that hard to believe. I have a 2012 Macbook Air that is running Catalina.

Regardless if his hardware will run the latest MacOS version, he may choose not to run it.
I have several older machines that do not run the latest versions of OS or software, primarily because newer software slows the machine down. Since I don't need the new features, this works perfectly.
What we're looking for is a solution, not an admonishment promoting running the latest software.

He says his machine won't run 10.13, not that he doesn't want to.
That machine is capable of running 10.15! That's not an admonishment...it's a fact!

Perhaps you should have a conversation with Apple Store in Towson Maryland who told me my machine was updated to the max.

Perhaps you should do that...and I would go right to the manager because whoever told you a 2013 machine can't go past 10.10 cannot possibly be a "genius." I assure you, that machine is upgradeable.

How well it will run will depend on the RAM and processor and whether you have a solid state drive.
And to be perfectly clear...I am trying to help you here. You've been misled, lied to, or you misunderstood what you were told. Is it possible they just told you that there were no more dot releases for 10.10? That would make some sense, at least.

Thank you Shawn. I was told by the Apple store in Towson Maryland that my machine was updated to the max. I appreciate the kind words rather than an attitude. This is all moot at this point as I have been reading that interactive PDFs created in InDesign don't work well across all browsers and platforms. In particular, videos will drop out. As such, I think I am going to go with using Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate that I use for creating online education. The only downside is that I have to run the content off a server. I am looking to create publications to spotlight my photography portfolios. Thanks!

It's not just interactive PDFs from InDesign...it's all of them. It's a lousy format for anything but forms and even then, if you can't control the reader, I wouldn't use them without a third party such as DocuSign or Adobe Sign.

Here's a compatibility list for Catalina. The list above is for Mojave.
