Hi, I created Navigation Tabs in my Indesign document. I did everyting like in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnDOVYl6Jec. I exported as Interactive PDF (like in video) but the buttons are not working. They are there, I can click them but noting happens.
Here's the link to how it looks.

Hi @agile_Ray5266,
Thanks for sharing! Could you let us know your InDesign version and operating system? Also, is this issue happening in Adobe Acrobat or other PDF viewers (e.g., browsers)? Some viewers don’t fully support interactive features.
For troubleshooting:
If the issue persists, please share a screenshot of your export settings. Meanwhile, for reference: Add interactive buttons in InDesign
Let us know the update.
Thanks,
Abhishek Rao

Hi @agile_Ray5266,
Thanks for the details! Since you're using the Preview app on macOS, please note that it doesn’t fully support interactive features like buttons in PDFs. I recommend opening the file in Adobe Acrobat to test the interactivity. If it still doesn’t work in Acrobat, let me know, and we can investigate further.
Feel free to share any screenshots or additional details if needed!
Thanks for your patience!
Best,
Abhishek Rao

Hi, no it's not working in Acrobat either. It looks like the buttons are kind of working, but not taking you where they should (I mean anywhere) but you can click, and when clicking on "Chapter II" button it zooms, witch it was designed to do.

Hi @agile_Ray5266,
Thanks for the update and the media! To investigate this further, could you please share the InDesign file or a sample of it? This will allow us to test the button actions and pinpoint the issue.
Looking forward to your file to help resolve this!

Please note that even if you ever succeed in making your buttons work in Acrobat, there's no guarantee they'll work in any other PDF viewer - whether desktop, mobile, or browser-based. So your project will only make sense if you can force your end users to open the file in Acrobat.

Hi - Curious if there was a resolution to this…
I'm running into the same situation with buttons not working. They're set to go to various bookmarks in the document, but they do nothing in the PDF (rollover states do show up).
I recently updated my InDesign, and I believe these interactive elements worked before in other documents, so maybe this…? Currently using InDesign 20.5 on Sequoia 15.5.
Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Nothing's changed nor is it likely to.

Just figured this out… Filename had a character that it didn't like. An em dash. Removed that, re-saved, and exported - now, all the buttons work as they should.
