Interactive PDF buttons disappear in Safari and iPhone

Interactive PDF question: I have 2 documents that are essentially the same. I created buttons with hyperlinks in InDesign CC 13.0.1 and exported as Interactive PDF. When viewing in Safari, one doc is fine with all buttons working. The other doc shows nothing where the buttons are. They disappeared! What am I doing wrong? What am I missing? I created them exactly the same. Thanks!

Hi all, thanks but I figured it out. KEY: Don't make them buttons but just plain hyperlinks instead. And boom—works in Safari, iPhone, etc. So don't hate on the Interactive PDF just yet

As stated in countless other threads, interactive PDF beyond Acrobat or Reader is nothing but a crapshoot. The more you expect and include in the PDF, the more likely it will fail.

I wrote this two years ago and it's more true today than it was then: http://boblevine.us/its-okay-to-say-no-to-interactive-pdf/
