Hello, I created an interactive PDF on InDesign for WhatsApp, but its functionality is limited to certain devices.

I'm having the exact same problem.

I was told that if the link begins with "https", then to change it to "http"' , but that didn't work for everyone.

It's rather frustrating

I doubt you are having the same problem and this is almost a year old discussion which I am locking to avoid any future confusion. Please start a new one with full details on what you're trying to do.

Your question makes no sense to me. Whatsapp is not a PDF reader and anything other than Acrobat or Reader on a desktop is going to be a crapshoot. Most of the things people consider interactivity don't work in PDFs very well if at all. This includes:

  • Video
  • Audio
  • Buttons
  • Animations
  • Multi state objects

Thank you for responding. I would like you to give me your recommendation. I am creating a wedding invitation and I want the buttons to work so that the guests can access the location of the event. Do you have any recommendations on how I can achieve it? When I sent the PDF via WhatsApp, it worked on Apple devices but not on Android.

There are websites that handle that kind of thing. I recommend using one of those.

People more knowledgeable than me in this area will soon explain to you in better details that you can give up on interactive PDF for this purpose because it won't work reliably and consistently on various devices. I'm just giving you a heads up as it looks like you're looking for the answer right now.
