I have made an interactive PDF for a questionnaire to send to clients. When opened on a computer it works - you can select checkboxes and type in your answers. But when opened on a phone it is not editable. The issue is most people will be using their phone to complete the survey

Correct answer JR Boulay

You can use Acrobat Pro to create a web form.

It should be easier than a Google form since you can reuse your INDD layout.

Have a look at Google Forms.

I agree. Google Forms tie in to their Google Sheets and the whole thing is easy to love.

PDF functionality is highly dependent on the PDF reader in use. Those integral to most mobile devices, especially those integral to browsers, don't support interactive elements. Unless you can require your users to use Acrobat Reader, you can't assure functionality (even simple things like password protection, opening to a defined zoom or page layout, or interactive buttons).

Okay thank you, that's not ideal. Any idea what software people are using to create such accessible questionnaires?

Apps, typically, either custom or templates on a platform. I think you'd be looking for polling services with a customizable "document." There's a big-name one, said name currently eluding me.

That or something web based, which is more universally supported across platforms and browsers. WordPress has plugins for polling and questionnaires, that might be a simple approach.

But I can't think of any document-based options that would be suitable.
