Hi, we have an InDesign server license, the limited version for a totally in house solution.
What I can't understand from any searches, is whether we can run two or more instances on one server in order to increase throughput, so is the licensing:
Does anybody know the answer please?
It's per machine - you can run as many instances on your machine as it can handle.

Awesome - thanks! That'll make life much easier.

But without extra software - that should handle creating instances - InDesign Server is rather useless.

Hi, yes we're scripting it with UXP and using Hangfire to handle the job queuing & submission.
InDesign server is running as a windows service so I'll just figure out how to run more instances, whether you can run multiple under one process, or you have to have a process per InDesign server instance.
It'd be best if we could launch a different amout of instances based on config, but I needed to know whether we were allowd to run multiple instances before I started working on it.

You can start as many instances as you need / your machine can handle - but it doesn't mean that you need to start them at once - you can start / end instances on demand.
