Is there any way to make the packaged fonts not point to C:\windowns\Fonts?

Is there any way to make the packaged fonts not point to C:\windowns\Fonts?
Especially after packaging and copying to another computer, if the same font in “C:\windowns\Fonts” and “Document fonts” have the same name but different versions, it will point to the “C:\windowns\Fonts”. There will be an error.

Sometimes there will be a hint of missing characters, but you want to change it, but you can't.
Sometimes it is scary, the document will not prompt, will be used directly under the “C:\windows\Fonts”.
The correct way of thinking should be to prioritize the use of “Document fonts”.

Is there any way to use a script to set the fonts of a certain document to point only to “Document fonts” and disable pointing to “C:\windows\Fonts”.

Are you opening the file in a newer version of InDesign than it was created in?

If you know in which situation what folder should be used for each font - it could be scripted.

I was always under the impression that the document fonts folder should be the primary source for exactly this reason, but I think if you open in a new version of ID you might need to save it, close it and then reopen for that to happen.

IIRC one of the big reasons for the document fonts folder was to be sure that the proper version of a font was being used because the assumption is that the user already has a license for the font.

You didn't answer the question I posed to you earlier. Are you opening a file that was created in an older version of InDesign?

There seems to be a version change, but more often than not it is copied from one computer to another.
However, you can't guarantee that the version is exactly the same on both computers.
I think the safe thing to do is to force the second computer's word rest to point to “Document fonts”.

It most likely will package font that is currently used in your document. 

So if somehow it switched - in your document - from Document Fonts to System - version from the system folder will be copied during next packaging - not the one you've in your Document Fonts folder.

We can't limit other people's fonts.
We just want to be able to point to “Document fonts” on our own computer when we open someone else's file.
This is safer, because sometimes the font name in my “C:\windows\fonts” is the same as the font name in someone else's “Document fonts”, but the font looks different, which is dangerous.
We have encountered this more than once, and there was no warning pop-up.

"Document Fonts are indeed prioritized when a document is opened. Please share the document and the different versions of the Fonts with which you are facing the issue to investigate it further. Also please let us know the InDesign version with which the issue is reproducible."

Just today(2024-11-14) another scary thing happened.
The font for my big headline is missing, he doesn't show it anymore and you can't select it, you press Alt+Left click on it's style and it will say, missing font protection has been applied.
But then you check: text menu > find fonts and realize that it is not missing fonts.

You apply other paragraph styles, it is possible to display the text content still exists.
I panicked!
Tried opening it again with InDesign 2025 and found the same problem.

Suddenly!

I remembered that it might be another problem with the Document fonts and C:\windows\Fonts confusion.
I deleted all the fonts in the Document fonts and everything was OK!

Reason analysis: In the past two days, I had packaged the files and copied them from computer A to computer B, and then back to computer A. The files had been copied from computer A to computer B, and then back to computer A again.
During this period, the partition of my A computer was also lost, but later recovered.
