Issue with InDesign and OTF fonts

New Here ,
Sep 20, 2018 Sep 20, 2018

Hi all,

I have a client that shares documents and use a particular set of fonts including Neue Haas Unica Pro. The problems seems that on one of their computers, it detects the font name as just "Neue Haas Unica Pro" but on the other machine it is detected as "Neue Haas Unica Pro (OTF)", so InDesign thinks the font is missing "[document name] uses one or more fonts which are not currently available on your system".

I've tried uninstalling the fonts and reinstalling on both machines using the same font file (OTF) and this didn't help. I have also tried putting the OTF file in folder C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe InDesign CS5\Fonts but this also didn't help.

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks,

807

Check if there is not another version (a TTF one) of this font installed on this computer.

IMO it could be a dodgy workflow, your client has to be scrupulous with informing you about any changes s/he's made.
