Issue with Interactive Buttons

Hi all,
I have exported my document, in the EPUB it looks fine and works well.

The buttons with the page titles are just to display interactivity and not go anywhere, however when looking at the PDF, there is constant flickering and not displaying with a block of white and black text on hover, then revert to normal off hover... any help would be great, not really sure how to fix (I know its janky).

Very simple, with normal text is white, when rolled over the white box shows and changes the text to black.

Thanks!

Intercativity is not reliable in PDF. What PDF reader are you using? The only one where some kind of intercativity can be guaranteed is Acrobat. Any other PDF viewer, including browser-based, is a hit and miss. Plus, on hover effects are not available on mobile devices.

Thanks for the reply!

Adobe Acrobat is the one I'm using, no need for mobile devices. Like I said, it's fine on the EPUB, but actually on Acrobat has my head scratching, I've used it multiple times and just can't get my head around it...

EPUB or PDF? Which is it?

For PDF I would never even think to use buttons anymore. They're simply unreliable and the more you add the worse it gets. My advice: rethink your project.

From what I can see, the button states you intend are not reaching the PDF. I see some Show/Hide actions, but I can't work out what they're doing. I would look at the way the buttons are configured in the InDesign document, to be sure that all states are defined, and verify that you're exporting Interactive PDF rather than a modified print PDF profile. This kind of effect generally works fine if the button states are fully and correctly set up in InDesign. I use it quite often without problems.
