I've setup paragraph styles. I have added paragraph border and paragraph shading, both with rounded corners. It all works well until the paragraph goes over more than one page. The border works fine but the shading gets cropped to a straight line and isn't rounded. Only at the end of the paragraph.
Is there anything that can be done about that.
Also i would like the border and shading to be within the text box. For some reason it extends at top and bottom of page more than the text box.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Hi @martine36476443,
Thank you for reaching out! I understand how important it is to have your paragraph styles look just right. Please try the below suggestions to help resolve the issue with the rounded corner shading getting cropped:
1. Please check if there are any hidden text or characters at the end of the paragraph that might be causing the shading to cut off abruptly.
2. Try adjusting the shading offset or spread settings in the Paragraph Styles panel. Sometimes, these settings can influence how the shading interacts with page breaks.
3. Increasing the shading offset value can allow the shading to extend further, potentially resolving the cropping issue.
4. Use a Text Frame: Enclosing the paragraph in a text frame can provide more control over how the shading behaves across page breaks.
5. Consider a Workaround: If none of the above solutions work, you might consider creating a manual rounded corner shape at the end of the paragraph on the second page. This will require some manual adjustment but could help achieve the desired effect.
Please let me know if these suggestions help or if you have any further questions!
Best,
Abhishek Rao

Hi @martine36476443:
Does this work for you? (Column 1 shows the paragraph in a single column, column 2 shows the paragraph splitting across frames.)
This is how I would approach it so that it is clear that the split paragraph is not self-contained but is continuing.

Have you set ROUNDED for corners in the Shading section as well ?
Because you can have different corners in the Border and Shading:
What are your OFFSET values for Border?

It's hard to tell from the close screen crops but I think @martine36476443 wants the border around the paragraphs, even if they split across pages/columns/frames. When the split happens in the middle of the paragraph (and not the beginning or end) this happens.
That's why I was asking if this would work instead:
@martine36476443 : these two variations are controlled by the Display Border if Paragraph Splits Across Frames/Columns checkbox.

Thank you all for your replies. Yes this issues only occurs when the style with the rounded corner border and shading continues onto next page within the same paragraph. When it's the end of a paragraph it's fine and the shading appears correctly. I have spoken to Adobe, this is a bug on the programme which they will aim to fix in one of the next updates. However they did give me a tip to work around this issue. You can setup object style with a shading and then assign that to the text. But i'm just realising that this probably won't actually help as the full book I'm setting up doesn't have separate text boxes within the page, only one per page, so i probably won't be able to assign an object style to only part of a text box! I didn't think of that when i was on the phone with them!
