Keep peen tool settings as previous action - Illustrator Pen Tool

I have lost my mind trying to find the answer to this, I have many polygons to create and I am using the pen tool with NO FILL and 0.5 px size. Everytime I finish a shape it resets back to NILL and NILL. How can I fix this ?
P.S I have disabled 'New Art has Basic Appearance"

With no oject selected, select the pen tool and before drawing set the attributes.

I tried, and it still resets after completing a set

I would try resetting the prefs: Reset InDesign Preferences and Other Troubleshooting and then try settin yoiur pen defaults again. Pretty much ALL defaults in ID are set this way.
