InDesign removes the last character from every text box when exporting Hebrew text with InDesign 2024 and 2025. How can I resolve this issue?

Hey @Zaly Tess,

Glad Robert’s suggestion helped! Could you confirm if you’re using InDesign version 20.1? A similar issue was logged as a bug, and a fix was included in version 20.1.

Please check out this thread: Last letter disappears in PDF export for Hebrew text in InDesign 2025 and see if it aligns with what you're experiencing.

Looking forward to your update!

Yes, using 2025 20.2!
Robert’s suggestion isn’t a solution; it’s a workaround. In the other thread, there has also been no resolution from Adobe so far. We are waiting, along with all Adobe users, for this simple bug to be fixed.

@Zaly Tess I just tested this on my installs of CC 2023, 2024, and 2025. I was able to export Arabic and Hebrew PDFs with no drops of terminal punctuation. So if you're still experiencing this bug, either you're not patched up to 20.2, or something about that bugfix was incomplete, or there's some other factor that is affecting our respective exports differently.

When I go over to the Uservoice, I see that some of these RTL glyph-drop bug reports have been folded into a single issue,  ID-4258070. There's no report that it's been resolved; it's marked as "under review" by the lead software engineer.  It's not on the fixed issues list, either. @Abhishek Rao, do you know where the fix for this issue was announced or reported? One of my own Uservoice bug reports was folded into 4258070, and I think some details of my bug report have been lost in the merge. But I certainly recall reading about a fix for this issue, and haven't noticed it cropping up myself, in proofs of any RTL language I've done recently. So, I'm curious to know more about the status of this issue.

Known bug - you need to add extra space at the end.
