Link marked missing but it's not

The links box indicates two placed photos are missing. The document lists two errors. The photos themselves do not have the red "missing" dot on the page (one is attached). I have repeatedly dragged the photos in or tried to bring them in with Command + D. The missing link indicator remains. Why would this happen?

Thanks. I realized that somehow the new versions were overlaid on "extra" old versions, which I deleted.

There could be corruption in the document. Saving as IDML can sometimes fix that.  I would save the file as an IDML file (File > Save As >  InDesign CS4 or Later [IDML]). Then reopen the IDML file in InDesign and try to relink the graphics.

The links panel indicates that the “Braverman-H84A0325.tif” and “Braverman-H84A0467.tif” are missing but the screenshot of the link you have attached is named “7.Braverman-H84A0325.tif”, so it is not the same file.

By the way, the file names should not include dot, except the one preceding the extension.
