Hi!

I have an excel document linked to InDesign which contains text and numbers (some of which are formulas). I have noticed that the formulas in excel which result in text (e.g a formula is used to populate a specific date in a cell - 31 December 2021) pull through to InDesign as a "-1". Also, where there is a cell in excel that has a decimal, e.g 1.1 it pulls through as 1 and not 1.1.

Thanks!

You first have to get rid of all the formulas in the Excel file and "normalize" them to the result texts only.

Also check your import options when you place Excel files. There is a control of the number of decimal places.

Thank you very much! So just to clarify, when you say normalise you effectively mean copy, pasting values only in the excel to get rid of the formula? No way to keep the formulas in the excel file?

Thanks again!

If copy/paste is the right workflow to get rid of the formulas but preserving the visible results, yes then do that.
