Links Created in InDesign Fail the Acrobat Accessibility Checker (Accessibility)

I have an almost perfect ID file that is even passing the PAC Checker with one exception.

All hyperlinks are failing the Acrobat Checker and are reported as "unmarked annotations."  It is failing hyperlinks to specific pages in the document and also a hyperlink to an external website.  I know the Checker fails links on parent pages, but it is failing my links on regular pages.

I have tried unchecking "shared destination" in the Hyperlink panel in InDesign.  Fail.  I have tried adding an alt-tag to the hyperlink in InDesign.  Fail.  I get "Unmarked annotations" every single time.

There really should not be a reason to have to manually tag and remediate these links in Acrobat.  I must be doing something wrong to the links in InDesign.

Thanks in advance!

Please give us the following info so we can help diagnose the problem:

  • Operating system
  • Version of Adobe InDesign, including the build number, such as 18.5.0.57
  • And the PDF Producer used to create the PDF: in Acrobat, you'll find this in the PDF file under File / Properties in the Description tab. Example: PDF Producer = Adobe PDF Library 17.00.

You now can set an alternative text for every hyperlink in "Edit Hyperlinks". Double click on the hyperlink in the hyperlink list.

 Thank you!

I should have mentioned I set alternative texts also but the links still fail.
