Looping video export options from InDesign to PDF

Hi,

I am trying to insert a video into an InDesign document to export to PDF and have this loop when the PDF opens with no play menu or time scoller at the bottom.

It seems since Adobe has phased out flash and this has removed this functionality which was available in earlier versions where I believe this was possible.

My current options only allow a finite video with the play menu visible at the bottom of the screen. Creating a longer video with a hour long loop for example was also considered, but this hugely increases file size, does eventually end, and has the play menu at the bottom. We cannot go with ths option.

This is the final stage of a long project and am desperate for any kind of workaround.

Many thanks in advance.

Does it work correctly using Publish Online? As mentioned here, video in PDF is a crap shoot, at best.

You can blame Apple rather than Adobe for making Flash obsolete.

There are alternatives to using video in PDFs – have a look at FXL ePub and InDesign's Publish Online.

PDF 2.00, in which you will be able to include video, is promised by Adobe (and may be some other vendors) in 2021. Keep your fingers crossed it happens!

Update: I have solved everything except the looping video issue.

Try opening it on a mobile device or a browser and you're likely to find you've solved nothing. Video in interactive PDF is a crapshoot and won't work on any system that does not have flash player installed.

It may be on your computer but not likely to be on everyone you're targeting.
