My iMac has been crashing a lot recently, and when I launched ID this morning it had strangely reverted to the default workspace settings. This is the first time this has ever happened in over a year.
I then updated ID just now, and again my workspace settings were not in place.
Why were they lost and how can I get them back without manually having to reset them?
Many thanks for any help.

Hi @TypoMan23:
Are you on macOS or Windows? Sorry, your second word was iMac. I'll be right back.

Hi @TypoMan23:
This post addresses how to copy presets from one version to another. It sounds like when you installed the new version of InDesign you did not migrate the presets. You can now go back and copy the Workspaces folder (and any others that you would like) to the new new version. Be sure to read the whole article before you start because these folders are hidden on your Mac and you need to know how to access the Library folder (explained in the post).
https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-how-to-copy-your-presets-after-an-update/
So for example, if you were on InDesign 2023 (v18) and are now on 2024 (v19), copy the Workspaces folder from
/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/18/[Language]/Workspaces
to
/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe InDesign/19/[Language].

Thanks for the reply, much appreciated 🙂
Would my old workspace preferences still even be there? Just to clarify this is what happened, and I have no idea why my workspace preferences vanished for no reason...
1. iMac crashed, then workspace reverted to default factory settings.
2. Updated ID (thinking this would solve the issue), and workspace still is at default factory settings.
I looked at the article, and I cannot even find that folder to begin with:

Hi @TypoMan23:
Yes, they should still be in the folder after a crash. This is what you are looking for (path visible on the bottom row):
Copy the Workspaces folder and put in the the same place in the Version 19.0 folder.

Thanks for the reply, however as shown in the screenshot, I cannot locate the Workspaces folder in my Preferences folder.
Any idea where else I should look?

Hi @TypoMan23:
Pls compare the two paths:
Mine:
Yours:
You need the Library > Preferences under your user name.
