Question

(MacOS) - Indesign systematically crash on launch - EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)

Hello,

My InDesign software crashes every time I try to launch it, even though I haven't made any changes to my setup: no MacOS updates, no software updates...

I always get the same error :

Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT) Exception Codes: 0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000 Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY
Application Specific Information: abort() called terminating with uncaught exception of type std::invalid_argument: stoi: no conversion

I've already tried the following fixes, but nothing solves the problem:

  • Deleting preferences (shift + ctrl + option + cmd) on startup
  • Clearing the software cache (Cache folder in Library)
  • Launching in safe mode
  • Launching the software with the Root profile
  • Complete reinstallation after thoroughly deleting all the old software files

My setup:

MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Mid-2014 MacOS Big Sur 11.7.10

Does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Sorry, I don't have any info for this version. You may want to check this thread - I think it's discussed there:
