Question

Management of footnotes for layouts with text and tables

Hello,

we need to understand how to manage automatic footnotes. Specifically, our layout has text in two columns with footnotes, interspersed with tables in a single column, which also have footnotes within them. Our requirement is to have all the text of the footnotes together at the bottom of the page. Currently, the footnote texts are inserted immediately after the text. We have explored all options but have not been able to find a solution so far. Please find attached an example of the issue.

We would appreciate it if you could help us with this.

Thanks in advance!

Footnotes are automatically placed at the bottom of the text frame that contains the text with the footnote citation/reference (the superscript number in body text).

So if you have one large text frame on the page that is set to have 2 text columns, all 3 of the footnotes in your sample should be ganged together at the bottom of that one frame.

Your sample looks like it's created with 3 individual horizontal text frames, and the footnotes are appearing at the bottom of their individual text frames.
