Maximize Tiled Windows

Does anybody know how one (of two or more) tiled document window in InDesign can be quickly maximized to the entire workspace, then unmaximized to its original position? The windows are missing the right side maximize/minimize buttons normally used to accomplish this.

Good question, Yoyo2001. You can use Window > Arrange > Consolidate all Windows to maximize (or right click the filename on the tab bar > Consolidate All to Here), then Window > Arrange > Tile to restore the tiled interface. If that works for you, then set up keyboard shortcuts for both in Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts to make it super fast.

    Hi Barb,

Thanks for your help. Your suggestion with shortcuts does work for quickly maximizing the active window, but when tiling again, the active window tiles first, so the tiled window positions will change, depending on what window is being edited. Any thoughts on how to keep them in the same place? Scripting, perhaps? Thanks.
