We have switched to using indesigns books for creating a product userguides.
Since the product is very very similar from product to product, we will use alot of what we call single souce files.
single souce files are indd documents of generic information specific to the product to standard safety information etc etc.
We will often brand the userguide to suit a customer or a new product, again using the same souce files but just the with the branding on the front cover and the single souce files then synced with the new brand, to then export
The question; How can we generate/refresh many book file?
I've toyed with XML, so can xml populate [refresh/create] indb files?
step further; to export to PDF

Hello,
Can I use Indesign to merge ePubs to make one file? If so, where can I find a tutorial how to do this? Many thanks.

Please don't double-post. See my answer here:

It is impossible to combine epub files in InDesign.

Maybe InDesign templates might be helpful for creating similar guides.
You can use Adobe libraries for repetative items, such as brand colours, logos, text blocks etc.
ThecInDesign Books feature is really for very long documents, how many pages will yours typically be?
You can set up a preset for the PDF -- is it for digital onscreen reading or printing?
If it’s for onscreen reading, do you know what kinds of devices are likely to be used?
