Misalignment of imported PDF comments in InDesign

New Here ,

Hello,

I'm encountering a persistent issue when exporting a PDF from an InDesign file, adding comments to the PDF, and then importing those comments back into the InDesign document.

The problem is that on some pages, the imported comments are misaligned and do not appear in the position they were placed in the PDF file. From my observations, this seems to occur more frequently on odd-numbered pages.

I have performed several tests, including:

  • Generating different types of PDFs (Print, Interactive).

  • Testing across multiple versions of InDesign.

  • Extensively searching Adobe forums.

Based on my research in the forums, this appears to be a common, uncorrected bug, even in the most recent versions. Here are some threads discussing the issue:

Has anyone found a reliable workaround for this problem, or is there any setting I might be overlooking that could resolve the misalignment?

Hi Thiago,

One basic question for you: after sending out the PDF, are you making any further changes to the InDesign document before comments come back? That can cause misalignment of comments to content.
