Missing Content Grabber ?

Community Beginner ,
Dec 11, 2021 Dec 11, 2021

I'm running InDesign 17.0.1 on a Mac with Monterey 12.0.1.

When selecting images, the content grabber icon does not appear.

I have tried all posted suggestions, checked all the settings, etc.

Also removed and reintalled InDesign but no avail.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks & Happy Holidays.

Hi @defaultamojftv3r7yy:

  1. Make sure it is enabled: View > Extras
  2. Hover over a frame containing an image with the Selection tool (the first arrow)

Still not working? Rebuild cache/prefs: https://www.rockymountaintraining.com/adobe-indesign-rebuilding-preferences-cache/

Thanks for the reply.

I tried your proposed solutions.

Unfortunately, the content grabber icon is still a 'no-show' (must have decided to go on 'vacation' with the new updates)

Hi @defaultamojftv3r7yy:

Just confirming that you worked through to the bottom of the post? We've heard this before but rebuilding prefs/cache took care of it. And the look of the two Selection tools changed with the last update so that's been as issue, as well. I don't have Monterey installed yet so I'll have to let someone else step in to help.
