missing document

Hi ,

 

I am new to InDesign. And I hope my question is not silly.

 

I created an artist brochure, which I have already published.

However, I cannot find it on the list, so I will select it again to update it.

How can I can happen I am not sure.  Is there any way I can open it again on the InDesign to update it?

Thank you so much for any assistance you can provide.

Are you working on a Mac or a Windows system?

 

Rather than trying to find it in the "Recents" list within InDesign, you will probably be best served to hunt for it using Windows File Explorer/Mac Finder Window to get to your previous file. If you in fact saved the file, it should be found on your system somewhere.

 

If you remember the filename, it'll help. Otherwise search for .indd to find all the InDesign document files that are installed on your system.

    Yes.

     

    Open a finder window and use the Spotlight search function to find any file with .indd in the name. That .indd label identifies the file suffix of an InDesign document file. Search your entire computer, and it will list every InDesign document file on your system. I'm very hopeful that one of those files will be your missing brochure.

     

    Please give it a try, and let us know how things worked out for you.

    You actually can find it by entering the exact title of the document in the Spotlight field. Then click on "Kind" at the top of the finder window. All InDesign files will then be grouped together in what should be a shorter list than searching for all InDesign files on your computer. All of this is assuming that you saved the original document on your hard drive and not on an external hard drive or cloud server.
