Missing Font Dialogue Box Empty - No Missing Fonts

I have an MS Word document, I using a template, and placing the source material. The fonts, formats, sizes, and everything match perfectly. The fonts are activated on my computer, in InDesign, and the Word document is done in the Abode font for ease of import.

Here is what is happening.

I open the template with the present headers, paragraph styles, spacing, etc.

I place the MS Word document

I get a dialogue box that says there are missing fonts, however there are no fonts listed.

I've "skipped" and tried to replace, the results are the same

The header sizes get wacky.

Header 1 goes to 12 pt, the body text goes to 16 pt, and the parent headers are all overridden from the template.

I cannot import a new parent to override the formatting.

I did the same procedure, with the same template, on the same set up in Word 30 minutes ago. So many bugs in this system. It is Frustrating!!!!

So, after hours and hours, I figured out the "nested character style" I had in my template, that I have successfully used for four previous books, was the culprit. Removing the character styles from the template solved the issue.

Impossible to know what is exactly going on .

When you're placing the Word Document do you use Show Options?

Character Styles could override the Paragraph Styles in some instances.

We'd need a lot more info - even some sample documents to know for sure.
