Missing font issue when performing package in indesign

Hello,

When I try to perform package for an Indesign file, I saw an issue "Arial Unicode" font is not getting packaged in font files, though it does not show missing or preflight error in Indesign document. I'm aware Indesign will not create a font package for the file synced from Adobe Typekit. But that is not a case here.

Is it normal with "Arial Unicode" font?

Arial Unicode MS was originally commissioned by Microsoft Office as an extended version of the Arial typeface to support a large set of international characters. The font was included with Office but not Windows. Over time the Unicode standard grew to the point where it was not possible to include all encoded characters in a single font file, so today most applications rely on font linking or font fallback to provide appropriate language support when a selected font doesn’t include the character

If you are sure that this font isn't from TypeKit then ask support why this happened. It looks like a bug.

We stopped servicing and updating Arial Unicode and no longer install it as part of Office. However, updated versions of the font are available from Monotype.

When Packaging in the Fonts tab, does Arial Unicode show up?

This still happens. 4 years later. If we use a font in a document it should be included when we package the document. This is a big issue for us as we package many documents a month and have dozens of licences.

Nothing has changed as far as font packaging and nothing is likely to, either.
