Missing fonts

After Windows updated my computer to Windows 11, my Bookman and Edwardian Script fonts were missing. I had just finished 30 years of writing eight technical college classroom-tested textbooks.

I've since replaced the Bookman and Edwardian Script fonts, but I no longer get regular, bold, and italic drop down choices from either.

I now have  all of the orginal Bookman and Edwardian Script fonts to replace with regular, bold, and italic drop down individual choices in all 8 books, 20 files each.

Is there anyway to recover the original Bookman and Edwardian Script font set up?

If those were Type 1 PS fonts (the red a behind the name in earlier InDesign versions) they are no longer supported. That said: bold, italic etc. are separate files, so you have to (re)install every variation, not just one font. Then go into your Paragraph styles and Character styles and choose the replaced font there. If you did not format with styles (you should! Always!) then perform a Find/Replace for the font, or go to Type/Used fonts and replace them there.

Were the fonts OTF, T1 or TTF fonts?

You can copy them from your old computer, except T1.
