Missing Link in Text Box

I have an InDesign document that has text copied from other InDesign documents/Illustrator files.

For some reason the text appears as missing links. I've read through a few threads suggesting this only happens when text is 'placed', however, for me this is not the case. The text was copy/pasted so it should be embedded, despite that it has a 'placed date'.

Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Screenshot attached for reference.

Hi @Rob217717683hsl ,

yes. Simply draw out a new text frame and copy/paste the formatted text to that one.

Did you select an entire text frame and paste that into your document or did you select the text within a text frame with the Type tool and then copy and paste that text into an active text frame in the new document with the Type tool? Does the same behavior happen in any other document or just the one? If it is just one document that has this happening try exporting it as an IDML and then reopening that in your version of InDesign. This process can remove some corruption from a file. Also please provide the exact version of InDesign and operating system that you are using.

Thanks for the reply Bill. The whole text box was copy/pasted into InDesign.

Saving as IDML didn't help!
