I'd like to create a heading style that is of the same level as an existing style, but not have the numbers effect each other. It is to number table headings that have the same numbering system as level 3 of the list, but creating a second level 3 style is currently imbedding it to the current style so that it follows the sequence rather than restarting.
Example of what is currently happening:
2.0 Heading (Level 1)
2.1 Subheading (Level 2)
2.1.1 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
2.1.2 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
2.1.3 Table heading (Level 3)
2.1.4 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
Example of what should happen:
2.0 Heading (Level 1)
2.1 Subheading (Level 2)
2.1.1 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
2.1.2 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
2.1.1 Table heading (also level 3 - but restarts at 1)
2.1.3 Sub-subheading (Level 3)
Please let me know if you have any suggestions, I can't find any queries similar!
You can do it with a Level 4 heading. Just don't display the Level 3 number.

Can you tell us which Adobe application you are using? It might be FrameMaker or InDesign? We will be happy to move your post from Using the Community to the appropriate forum for you.

May I ask the purpose of the second 2.1.1 heading?
