Multiple text flows w/o adding pages

I'm trying to place 2 separate text to flows on 50 pages side by side. Both have the same number of lines but the 2 text flow always adds an additional 50 pages from placing the 2nd flow I would like it to remain at 50 pages. What step am I missing?

Can you simply delete the extra 50 pages?

    How are you placing the content? Are you using primary textframe feature? Some screenshots etc would help us understand what you are trying to accomplish and make some suggestions
