Myriad support or not after 2022

I get a warning for all Myriad fonts, they are Type 1 fonts, but will all type 1 fonts "disappear" confused?? Are these fonts really losing support at the turn of the year? Or is it wrong information in the program?

I bet you are not using the latest version of InDesign.

There was a period where many OpenType fonts with Type1 outlines (like Myriad Pro) were triggering this warning incorrectly. OpenTuype fonts of any flavor will continue to be supported and you have nothing to worry about with fonts that end in Pro or Std (the T1 flaovored outlines) or OpenType fonts with the .ttf extension (TrueType outline).

Thanks, What is confusing is just that. We use Myriad Pro selected in ID/adobe fonts, it is an OTF font, but described as an OpenType Type 1.

Don't use T1 font, a recommendation which was announced arround 2000. Use the OTF version of Myriad. Use Myria Pro. You can activate via Creative Cloud to use on any computer, where the Creative Cloud is activated.

Thanks, but I'm not sure what you mean. We use different variants of Myriad Pro in our production. It is an opentype Type 1. But does Adobe's warning about lack of support apply to all Type 1 fonts or only some? We need to ensure our product for 2023. Do we need to replace this font family or are we fine 🙂

T1 is dead as dead can be. Do not use T1 fonts!

Activate those Myriad Pro OTF fonts you need. Where is the problem? YOu have everything at hand if you are a CC subscriber. Activate the fonts.

  1. Open the CC desctop application
  2. in the left columns you can see the font icon, click on it
  3. At the to you see the button to add more fonts
  4. Search for Myriad Pro
