Name Index: adding footnote reference to page entry

Community Beginner ,

Hello everybody,

for a recent project I need to create an index of names with InDesign CC2017 out of a huge book (500+ pages).

I need to clearly highlight if the name appears in the text stream or in a footnote by adding the character "n" to the page entry if the name appears to be in a footnote.

———

Example:

Churchill, Winston, 14, 23n, 37, 45, 67n...

———

Apparently InDesign doesn't do it automatically: is there a trick to fix the problem? Can anybody suggest a script to work faster/better with indexes???

Thanks!

Hi,

How do you do if a name appears, on the same page, in the current text AND in a note?
