So at work, we have to build catalogs for a gardening business. On an excel sheet, there is a list of products, with product information, prices etc.
This information can be transferred over to the catalog template in Indesign. When in indesign 'this plugin' which appears in a little box pops up and will transfer all the info from excel doc into indesign, making it an easier user experience. What is this plugin called??
So my question is, What is this plugin called???
It's hard to say what you are using. Data Merge could do it, but that doesn't mean that's what was used. I'm not at all the guy to talk about program hacks, but one thing you can try is to open your InDesign file with a text editor and do a search for the word plug. That might tell you which plug-ins were active when the file was created, but maybe won't tell you what plug-in was used for this specific task.

It might not be the one you have in mind but EasyCatalog could load an excel file and ease the process of building a catalog by automating most of it.

Hi Laura,
As informed by Migintosh, it won't be possible to find out which plugin were used for specific task however you can try to find the plugins used in the document and then may be try to find out the one you are looking for.
Regards,
Om
