Need Imported Tagged Text to Appear on Master Page Header

I'm creating a book in InDesign that lists the top 100 songs from each week by importing the song listing as tagged text.  Each page will contain 100 songs and each weekly listing will have a unique date that I'd like to appear in a date text box on the Master Page.  Is there a way to do this?  I thought that perhaps I could tag the weekly date of each top 100 listing with a unique paragraph style or character style name, such as 'Week Date,' and somehow assign that style to the date text box on the Master Page.  I'm trying to avoid manually adding the varying week date to each page in the book.

I can give it a try.  I'm confused regarding the date text that will be assigned a Character Style within a Paragraph style.  Won't the date text appear in the body of the page since it is part of a paragraph?  Maybe I will have to make the character style of the date text 'white' to hide it on the page.  You also mentioned 'another' running header.  Won't there be just one running header on the Master Page?

Contents of the Running Header is taken from the text located on the page - if your goal is to have "date" ONLY in the RH - then yes, you need to somehow hide it from the main text.

About more than one RH - with different sources and different "destinations" you can have as many as you need.

I think Running Header would be the answer ?

First - Type / Text Variables / Define - Running Header:

Then insert it into a TextFrame at the top of your page - Header:

Thanks Robert.  Each page of the tagged text file that I import into InDesign will include a date.  I want that date to only appear in the Running Header and not in the body of the page, too.  Is that possible with a Running Header?

Sure - add another running head and base it on a character style

On the date text that is tagged you can give it a character style (you don't have to specify any settings)

In the master page - add the other running head where you want it and choose Character style instead of Paragraph Style.

You can add as many running heads as you need.
