Network Connection was lost

New Here ,
Sep 04, 2025 Sep 04, 2025

Hi there

Can someone please help me to encounter this issue and solution for this issue. We have a Amazon S3 cloud storage server called Wasabi and our designers are using InDesign. They do all their works from server rather than doing locally. But, we got this error recently and it's recurring. The Indesign is up-to-date and we are using Cloudmounter to connect to Wasabi and the server is not down neither the internet connection is. So, what might be the actual cause of this issue and solution for this issue?

Much Appreciated for your help

Thanks
SK

Afaik the support for accessing files placed on network drives is patchy at best. You will have such issues. The better workflow is to copy the file to the local drive.

There should be no problems working on network or cloud storage drives. I'm unfamiliar with that storage product, but if it's similar to Dropbox or OneDrive, it likely has a feature that allows you to download files on demand rather than syncing them to your local hard drive. If indeed that is the case make sure that feature is turned off as it can cause InDesign to time out.

Otherwise, I suggest contacting their tech support since there is a pretty strong possibility the issue could be on their end.

Hi @sushil_4027,

Thanks for reaching out. Since you mentioned this happens while working directly from the server, could you please confirm if the same error occurs when you copy the file locally, work on it, and then upload it back? That will help us narrow down whether the issue is related to the network mounting workflow. It would also be useful to know if all users in your team see the same message or if it is limited to certain machines.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
