All of the sudden my Indesign is giving me an error box whenever I click File>New>Document or Ctrl+N
A blank error box appears and has %CCX_FNFT_DIALOG_NAME as the header. It won't let me create a new document.
I can still open an existing document however.
Any ideas?
Hi, I think I know how to fix your issue.!! I was having the same code except I use Windows 8.1 so after I couldn't find out how to fix it I called Adobe and a man walked me through a couple steps and it fixed it immediately.!!!
Go to:
Edit....then
Preferences....then
General....then
check the box that says....
Use legacy "File New" interface
Click OK
Then try to open a new file
It worked for me...so I'd bet it will work for you too.!!
I hope this is of assistance to you because I know how frustrating "tr

Which version of InDesign and OS?
Have you tried resetting your InDesign preferences?

To reset your preferences try this:
Close InDesign. Then hold down Ctrl + Alt + Shift (Windows) or Cmd + Ctrl + Opt + Shift (Mac), and relaunch InDesign. Respond in the affirmative to the dialog asking if you really want to replace the preferences.

Tried that, I'm not even getting an option to reset the preferences. It flashes a quick box and I can't see what it says.
Then tried to create New Document. Same error.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled it still didn't fix it.

Did you uninstall using the drop-down menu in the Creative Cloud app (see screen shot below)?
If that doesn't work when you reinstall InDesign, uninstall InDesign again and run Adobe Cleaner before reinstalling Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

Thanks for the advice but that hasn't fixed the issue yet. Maybe I need to contact Adobe about it.

A Google search for %CCX_FNFT_DIALOG_NAME brought up a couple of hits, but they were all Photoshop, not InDesign.
Report it as a bug at user voice so the engineers and all other users can see it.

Thanks! That worked like a charm!!
I performed the steps you described and was able to open a new document.
Then, I unchecked the legacy box in pereferences and closed the app.
When I opened indesign again, with the new 'new document' dialog.
I'm sure this should work for others.

Hi Himanshu, tried all that and it still doesn't work.
I'll continue to use the Legacy "New Document" version until a major update is released that fixes this on Windows 10.
