So duh - havent ventured into interactive design and online publishing before. But saw it mentioned here as i was looking for an adobe alternative to flipbooks as my issuu account is very limited.
SO EXCITED to try this; watching videos. But i'm quite confused on the sizes for page setup. If this project is no going to be printed, but just hosted online, what are the best sizes to set up a page? the test file i downloaded is 1024 x 768. Is there a reason for that? What are best sizes for viewing a project on desktop as well as on a phone?
Next: looks like it is hosted in my online publishing area - accessible through indesign. Is that attached to my account? It is a work adobe account . . . and is there a way to have access this online published file not going through adobe indesign?
thanks - so excited to start this new venture!

The files are linked to the Adobe account that publishes them.
No you can't access the published file without going through Adobe InDesign.
You need to update the published file from the same account that created it - or replace it.
One thing you can do is setup a webpage to host the publication and then embed the code.
That way if the publication changes accounts - you can redo the Embed code for the website to host the new/edited content.

eugene - that makes sense. but again, newbie - how would i set up a webpage to host the publication? I'm lost on that. I get embedding the code on our companies website; but not sure i understand what you mean. i truly apprecite any clarity on that. thanks

The actual Publish Online file will always reside and be hosted on the Adobe server. The Embed option will provide you an iframe code that can be copied and pasted into a web page through the backend administration. Typically into a html containter of the page. Visitors will go to the page on yourcompany.com/digital-brochure and seamlessly view the publish online through the iframe.

thanks so much. this all is making sense. just watched an adobe video on this, and they talked about embedding the link within the website; it shows on the website but is hosted on adobe. wow. this is all just so cool, and i'm spending so much time learning about this.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CpXYgKnG7v8 -- link to a video i watched. if you go to the 36.04 or so minute mark, there's a trick he shows, but doesnt explain. a moving object, which you can click, and up pops another object (pictures and text). any idea how to do that??
